Description:
In 1609 GD, the continent of Escalia was under attack by the sorcerer Caelmor, who was convinced that steam technology would lead to the destruction of the planet. He was defeated by a trio of heroes before he could complete his plan, but his followers still operate in the shadows. In the present, one of the heroes, Olivia, is raising her daughter, Fayhe, who is about to be involved in yet another continent-wide incident.

0:00 Aldwyn - Church of Lament
Apparently, religion isn't widely practiced in this area.
The church NE of town has a secret door leading into the caves.
2:48 Aldwyn Cave
You'll have to fight both bandits and bats to get to the boss, Iskas, who is unrepentant for killing Seyfer's family.
There's a locked chest, but you won't be able to open it if you already used a copper key.
7:28 Boss: Iskas
He can cast an absolute evasion buff that allows him to dodge even spells. To get around it, you have to use Righteous Rush to dispel his buff. Unfortunatley, it's hard to find the perfect timing for it without counting the exact cooldown of the dodge buff.
12:32 Aldwyn Cave P2
Iskas falls unconscious, so now you can free the merchant inside the cell and put Iskas in it. Be sure to buy a copper key from the merchant so you can get the locked chest from the previous room. If you didn't already get the locked chest from the west side of the forest, be sure you have enough keys.
We discover the bandits are working with Eresia, the mysterious woman from outside of town. She wants to use Fayhe for her experiments.
18:45 Boss: Eresia
She will soon summon allies, so make the necessary preparations for Fayhe and Lumia to use AOEs.
If you get poisoned, you might be able to cure it with Seyfer's attack buff, but it's based on luck.
After the battle, Eresia will touch her amulet and transform into some kind of mutant.
27:54 Boss: Mutant Eresia
She can regularly summon Blood Slimes. They aren't very tanky compared to her previous minions, but their attacks can deplete FP and they have a powerful AOE, so take them out quickly.
She can apply two different buffs to herself. One grants her regen while the other allows her to reflect 10% damage back to anyone who damages her.
At her final HP threshold, she'll use a mass confusion skill, and you need to make sure you have Warding Winds active when it happens. This is important because confused characters can apply percent-based healing to the boss, which drags out the battle. Unfortunately, the Warding Winds buff lasts only 2 turns and cools down in 5, so mistiming it is fatal. To add insult to injury, you can't just spam guard to get through the cooldown before hitting Eresia's HP threshold, since guarding is a once-per-battle option.
In this particular attempt, I got really lucky and critted her to death before she could activate her mass confusion skill.
36:06 Return to Town
Eresia runs away and uses a bomb to block the cave path. Fortunately, Makas is fine.
Fayhe feels guilty that her presence caused Eresia and the bandits to attack, but Olivia reassures her that she should be proud of saving the town. She asks us to deliver a letter to Niromir Tychon in Sorim concerning the kidnapping of mages.
Seyfer is going to take Iskas to prison in Cawic and report on the situation.
40:42 Eresia's Confusion AOE
I showed a clip of what happens if you don't block the confusion skill. Yes, the confused party healed the boss about 50% of her HP. I was so salty! I feel like there's too little room for error for a first boss!

Talk to Olivia to get the letter to deliver.
Some NPC dialogue changed. The inn in particular has new rumors.
