Planning is very helpful for ensuring your missions are properly structured as well as making workflow faster as you can just look back to your plan if you forget anything. Pacing is important for making a good mission. Out of sync bots or giants tend to hurt a mission's pacing. Make sure your subwaves are not too long or you may risk either boring people or having stragglers to wait for.
I've also started making use of WaitForAllSpawned to spawn a single group of slower robots from the next subwave after the first subwave spawns it's last robots with a slight delay. It can help transitioning between subwaves.
