My Experience With Shockbyte Minecraft Hosting
I made a mistake, and I need to own up to it.
I recently promoted Shockbyte server hosting as a great Minecraft host. Well, as time has passed, my original impression of Shockbyte has changed a lot, and I can no longer support them whatsoever. So, I knew that I needed to make a video updating my thoughts on Shockbyte in order to make sure you guys are getting the best Minecraft server hosting possible.

About this video: In this video, I go over my experiences with Shockbyte Minecraft hosting. I talk about what it was like hosting my network server with Shockbyte, and why I decided to ultimately move from Shockbyte to Apex Minecraft Hosting. Let's go ahead and discuss the real reasoning behind this.
It all started with Shockbyte just a few days after our server originally came online. Randomly, out of nowhere, the server went down. For no reason whatsoever. To Shockbyte's credit, they did fix this issue quickly. That was the last time they dealt with something quickly.
From here, let's talk about the ping issue. Randomly, the ping on our server for all of our players would around triple. Going from 120 to 350+ or 60 to 200+. This would make the server unplayable for hours just randomly. We tried restarts, timings tests, everything. Nothing but Shockbyte could be blamed for this lag.
From there, we had a random downtime one night that took our server down for around 4 hours. This was the straw that broke the camels back. At this point, we started moving everything over to Apex. Then, something that isn't even mentioned in the video happen. Shockbyte's MySQL database server went down thus taking our server offline for around 7 hours. This is truly unacceptable for any hosting company.
And that is why I no longer recommend Shockbyte Minecraft hosting. If you've got any questions about this video, please post the in the comments below. I'm more than happy to answer them. Thanks for watching!
