My First Roller Coaster of 2022: Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster! A Pleasant Surprise! (1/29/22)
On January 29th, 2022, I rode my first coaster of 2022, Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! This was my first time riding this particular Weigand Gen 1 mountain/alpine coaster, and I was pleasantly surprised! I thought it was quite fun, and a decently large and long ride! It's location slightly away from the Pigeon Forge strip is also nice, as it isolates it a bit from the action of the area, letting you feel like you're really out in the woods while riding.
Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is a standalone attraction on Wears Valley Road in Pigeon Forge, TN, a bit isolated from the main strip. The ride is accessible by car with a decently sized on-site parking lot, walking/cycling via a sidewalk, and bus via the Pigeon Forge Trolley system.
