NAM/NAPALM: Tangerine Edition | Operation Override | No Failure Run
After the trailer from a while back, I figured showing my Tangerine addon in proper action would be a good idea. Thought about running the regular main campaign, but since there's already plenty videos of those I figured playing through custom maps would vary things up a notch. Not a lot of videos on those compared to the main campaign ones.
Today's custom map is called Operation Override. Was expecting the map to take a while, considering the readme on how confident the mapper is, but aside from the initial assault on the bunker and that long sit down as entire rows of VC approach my position, there's not much else. Pretty decent architecture, atleast, didn't get lost as well or find any mandatory secrets, bonus star for restraint. Glad I could clear it in one go, that defense bit with the dozens of soldiers approaching got a bit scary.
Even though I arrive to the mission with a bunch of other allied soldiers, unfortunately the NPCs here are more hindrance than help, except maybe the medic 'cause he can heal me so long as he's alive. I do like how the medic works aside from the "not shooting enemies" bit. Gotta think about whether I should risk bringing him along underfire or leave him somewhere safe and risk getting myself shot down trying to retreat to him. I decided then to have everyone just cover the landing zone while I go in alone, worked quite well for me.
