Hello Nancy Drew fans! Welcome to my playthrough of HeR Interactive’s second (and currently final) Dossier game, Resorting to Danger! This game was released in the summer of 2009, shortly after the release of the Adventure game, Ransom of the Seven Ships. This is a hidden-object puzzle game, with the tagline, “Fast Fun for Busy Detectives” (though I beg to differ, as it takes a few hours to complete).

The setup of the Dossier series is that the player pairs objects together to drive the story forward. Unlike other hidden-object games, the items Nancy seeks relate to the game and make useful and purposeful matches. This take on the hidden-object category makes for a far more engaging and interesting game to play. I really love it.

This is my favourite of the two Dossier games. HeR Interactive made great changes between the first and second game; for instance, the action bar looks much more uniform and clean. The player also gets to make a few more choices (such as selecting the correct location to move to next).
One note about this recording—I had a bit of garbled sound toward the 52-minute mark. It clears up about two minutes after that.

I sincerely wish this series had continued. HeR Interactive, you still have fans of this series who would be happy to see the third installment released.
