Neural Gear (X68000) - Playthrough
4As the name suggest, we here at Dream Harrier are big fans of Space Harrier and love looking for similar games. Neural Gear for the Sharp X68000 computers certainly fills the bill. Developed by Fill-in-Cafe, Neural Gear features some blazing fast speeds, giant UI elements, an anime girl protagonist, and a sort of strange health system. Your energy is always draining, with hits and using special weapons taking off more. Luckily you get some back for every 20 enemies shot down so it becomes quite the balancing act. Also the entire game is mouse control which is interesting but the shots are so big n fast while the area you can move is so small that dodging things isn't a real possibility. While not my favorite Space Harrier like, it is still pretty neat and I love its style and music.
