New Faction Invasions And 5 Ways The Division 2 Endgame Has Improved
Is The Division 2 the first loot shooter to get the endgame right on day one? In our new The Division 2 endgame gameplay we look at the Black Tusk, mission invasions, specializations and get a tiny bit of info on the Raids to find out how Massive are getting the late game action right. There are also robot dogs. Lots and lots of robot dogs. Bring a squeaky toy.
This isn’t our The Division 2 review - we played three hours of the private beta and a few hours of the endgame to get an idea of how the new faction, the Black Tusk, will disrupt Washington DC. They bring new weapons, new tech and randomised level invasions, meaning you’ll never know what elite force you are up against. We also get to try out a Division 2 Control Point, which sees you fighting for key locations in the city. Once you reach the endgame gameplay, people will be fighting for control of the streets for months to come.
We also try out The Division 2 specializations, playing as the mighty Demolitionist and his tasty grenade launcher. This is an extra level of strategy and customisation that exists when you reach level 30 - you can pump points into specific skills and mods for the skills, allowing you to shape your Agent into something spectacular. We’ll have to wait for our full The Division 2 PC review to see how this plays outside of Ubisoft’s test conditions, but we had fun playing with our new tank of a hero.
Our The Division 2 endgame gameplay also covers fights in the new Space Museum and Nuclear Bunker, so you can see how a level 30 character - and their high end loot - holds up against the Black Tusk in a variety of locations. We did interview the game’s creators about Raids and while they were tight lipped they hinted at how what we see in the video will play into the final game. Elsewhere in our The Division 2 impressions we also explain all the free DLC coming to the game over the first year - quite an impressive selection.
Hopefully our The Division 2 preview explains everything you want to know about high level play - please do add any questions you have in the comments and I will do my best to answer them. I think The Division is an interesting case study as it is the first proper sequel to a games as service title, folding in all the updates from The Division 1. Will it hold up? Our Division 2 review will have the answers when the game arrives on 15 March.
