New Intel Malware Vulnerability Surfaces | iPhone X Dominates Despite Lower Sales & More
We have a good news-bad news situation today, as Lenovo have advised people of a new Intel security vulnerability that lets malware erase or block UEFI/BIOS firmware updates. This security flaw reaches all the way back to the Broadwell processors, but thankfully Intel have managed to find it in house and issue out firmware/BIOS updates.
On the good news front, Intel have announced Intel Threat Detection, which essentially takes the load off of your CPU when virus/malware scanning and puts it onto the CPU integrated graphics instead. This not only means less strain ont he processor, but also means that malicious code that can bury itself in memory can be more easily found.
Moving onto smartphones, a report from Counterpoint has surfaced which shows that despite the iPhoneX performing below overall expectations, it still commands an insane amount of the smartphone market and we also see how much of the market Apple hold versus their various Android phone competitors.
