A new memorial to 22 fallen British soldiers has been unveiled at a Patrol Base in Afghanistan.
It was commissioned by members of 1st Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, after one of their colleagues was killed last year.
PB Rahim sits on a stark line between the Desert and the Green Zone. It provides a security bubble but the fight to achieve that has been hard, with 22 British lives lost in the area in just over four years.
Their names are now on one brass plaque on a new, simple, white memorial adorned by a solitary cross on top.
The Officer Commanding B Company 1 YORKS - Major James Kennedy - led the ceremony, while the Commander of Task Force Helmand, Brigadier Patrick Sanders, unveiled the memorial.
