1,664Some screenshots are getting viral in the community about how hoyoverse is taking down videos of small creators who are criticizing hoyoverse for the lack of rewards in the recent updates. We all know what's happening in the genshin community right now. # Boycottgenshin is almost everywhere, and my comments box is filled with this hashtag. But we will talk about it later.
Today, a content creator called Mujin, shared some screenshots of some chinese creator's account's, and accused hoyoverse for taking down videos from Douyin aka Chinese TikTok.
He said, according to a Chinese creator who wishes to remain anonymous, Hoyoverse is aware of player discontent but instead of doing something about the ongoing backlash, they’re actively taking down videos of smaller creators talking about the issue on Douyin.
And apparently, a big Chinese creator who is as critical of the game as Tectone himself, by the translated name Sweet Potato connoisseur , had his in game name changed back to Traveler, seen as a form of pushback from Hoyo since he’s too big to have his videos be taken down without causing massive backlash.
But this was proven to be false later on by another creator who goes by the name of Ubatcha. He said that Mujin is spreading misinformation. He further added that these screenshot are not recent, as It happened in Nov 2023, and the name wasn't removed due to any issues with the actual creator. It was due to the name being accidentally added to a blacklist and the issue was resolved with Hoyo back then. These screenshots are being spread to stir up drama when it's completely unrelated.
Although the information that mujin shared was false, we cannot deny the fact that hoyoverse is really bad at communication with it's users. Hoyoverse has already announced all the rewards for the upcoming version 4.4 update, including the rewards which will be sent to us via in game mail. And there are now changes in the rewards, it's the same 3 intertwined fates.
And they are no changes in rewards for chinese players also. So that's answer the question whether hoyoverse cares for its players or not. During the first anniversary, the scale of the backlash was way bigger than this one. And the result was not like we expected.
And even this time, they did not anything about it. Even when the whole chinese community is against them, so what I'm trying to say is, if hoyoverse is not listening to the chinese community, I'm pretty sure they will not listen to us global players. You can criticize hoyoverse as much as you want, but nothing will change until hoyoverse is getting the money.
And in my opinion, even if they face a loss in 4.4, which I'm pretty sure they won't, they will not give up and apologize. I'm not saying hoyoverse as collectively is responsible for this, I'm talking about the branch that manages genshin impact. Because honkai Star rail is everything genshin was supposed to become in future.
Genshin impact is indeed getting boring at this point, the only thing they have improved in genshin over the years is the quality of animation. They are putting all the money in animation of their game, and not to forget their upcoming release zenless zone zero. Where did the money come from? It's from genshin of course.
See the point is, there are currently two groups of players, one who are against the poor rewards, and the other who are just happy that the game is free and all. And then there're also some players like me, who are here since day 1, who have experienced all three anniversaries, all 3 lantern rites, and I used to play honkai impact before genshin. And i also know nothing will change this time either. You can hate me for saying this, but you can ask any old player who's playing since release or since inazuma's release.
