I hate metas or certain articles when they fail to look at the hole picture. I decided to tie in my prior recording (Damage Reduction from Armor) to the current meta and discuss that

TLDR:

War Hammer is the most defensive two hander available. These articles or metas fail to recognize that damage is not the only thing it is good for. It is also great for being a bully and surviving it. I would say this is A tier for PvP tank

Spear has defense through Critical Strikes. At 30% maximum critical chance potential, it has a good chance of triggering the 20 Stamina from criticals passive. I forgot to mention it but there is the one that says Stamina regeneration is increased below 30% (passive)

I used the Musket as an example to show that Damage Reduction and Dodging can be more valuable than a shield. Sword and Shield at best can block 1 Musket shot (using Weakened Defenses) if using the High Grip passive (reduced Stamina damage on ranged attacks). It can block 1-2 hits from the mentioned melee weapons. The cost of doing that is more expensive than a dodge
