00:59 this doesn’t make sense to me, 2:06 GeForce Now/Cloud Gaming requirement, 2:56 the cost of GeForce Now/Cloud Gaming, 5:35 the website example I am using, 6:15 not everyone can meet that requirement, 9:11 example chart, 9:57 the average is a country as a whole, 12:06 even big cities don’t have high speed internet, 13:32 city built internet

I noticed a few channels talking about how a year subscription to Geforce Now is included with the RTX 3080. It doesn't make sense to me but I decided to discuss the topic regardless. Cloud Gaming shares the same problem as online gaming

TLDR:

All cloud gaming, remote connection services, and online games have an internet speed requirement. For Cloud Gaming it is usually 10 down for 1080p. 15-20 for 1440p

The cost of these services are worth being aware of because you could try to save that money for a computer. If you have your own PC you avoid those fees and can customize how you want

I went in to a discussion about how not everyone has access to 10 down due to living in remote parts of the world, or perhaps living in a flat/apartment (where internet is shared). The pandemic forced a lot of people to move because of the high costs in addition the existing problems

Then I talked about how average internet speed lists don't give you a good picture because there are countries where 2, 3 or even more cities account for the bulk of that average number. It is not a good representation of how many people have access to high speed internet

I mentioned the 3 data collection methods as part of this to show that it gets more confusing or problematic to determine what is going on

At the end I talked about a few city based projects to create their own internet infrastructure

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/internet-speeds-by-country The website I used as part of my example

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Internet_connection_speeds The wiki page I used as an example to show the 3 data collection methods (M-Lab, Ookla, and Speed Test)

https://muninetworks.org/ A great website for news on city projects, rules, or regulations related to internet

https://www.montbelvieu.net/301/MB-Link City website for the city built internet I mentioned as an example. Mont Belvieu is a city near Houston (TX)
