As a matter of fact, Sekiro does not have much of an RPG: some techniques are kind of mandatory but they can be acquired at the very beginning of the game; resistance is augmented as the game progresses and cannot be cheated or forced through levelling... there is no actual levelling.
So, learning basics remains the only part of the game experience which grows and which a player can improve by playing more and more.
We could also say that it is a repetitive game. Luckily, the story, the roaming, the architecture of locations, the artwork is fenomenal.
