Here is a video demonstration showing how to defeat the Buddha Statue on Master Ninja difficulty with the Kusari-Gama without taking damage. This strategy was used by the best KG player in NGS2 Kenobeat.

Strategy - Generally you want to use aimed jump into aerial S S during the arm smashes. Once the Buddha statue keeps its arm on the ground you can convert into optimal damage using running T into 360 T T.

Providing you can evade the Buddha Statues attacks you should have no problem defeating this foe. Furthermore, once the Buddha statue begins to chant you can use running T to attack the opposite arm. This was shown in the video.
