Today we're citing Elliotte Friedman's most recent 31 Thoughts article on Sportsnet, going over a really interesting idea involving the seven eliminated NHL teams: the San Jose Sharks, LA Kings, Ottawa Senators, Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Ducks, and New Jersey Devils.
Friedman notes on how there's talk amongst the league to bring these teams back in the fall of 2020 for some extra games, although it is not a priority of the league.
This is significant because that timeline aligns with, what's supposed to be, the final few rounds of the 2020 Stanely Cup Playoffs.
After a strange draft lottery process with all these teams, could we see them in action in as early as September or October?
