We made a similar video to this with fellow Detroit Red Wings forward Dmytro Timashov, but those rumours were shut down literally the day we uploaded our video about them. This time, it's Evgeny Svechnikov, who, according to a Russian sports outlet, is on his way to the Ak Bars Kazan hockey team in the KHL—his hometown team.
Svechnikov, drafted as a 1st round talent in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and who was once one of the top Red Wings prospects, has fallen away from that title as the years have gone by, due to his unfortunate luck with injuries.
Not to mention, his younger brother Andrei Svechnikov is one of the top Carolina Hurricanes players today, and he's the guy who went 2nd overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft behind Rasmus Dahlin of the Buffalo Sabres.
