This is video #019 in my playthrough of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Oliver and Drippy continue their journey through the Golden Grove south of Ding Dong Dell. After collecting a couple of treasures in the central part of the area, they turn down the west path. At the next major crossroads, they turn down the west path again.

At the upcoming T-intersection, they go up the northern hill to find a blue chest with a Hoarfrost Harpoon (time index 1:49). Nobody can equip this just yet, but that will change soon.

Down the hill to the south, Oliver will find a strange blue object cradled in a tree at the end of the path (time index 2:27). Drippy explains that this is a familiar egg. To make the egg hatch, Oliver must cast Rejuvenate on it (time index 5:14). A cute little Seed Sprite hatches from the egg.

After the events, Oliver heads east and follows the eastern paths to a previous fork. The newly hatched Seed Sprite appears in front of him (time index 9:43). He does indeed look more like a fairy than Mr. Drippy. :-) Anyway, the cute little fellow leads Oliver east and north to the dead end reached by mushrooms (time index 12:09). There is a missing page from the Wizard's Companion up there, and it has information on the Quicken Growth spell. Nice! Better yet, the Seed Sprite joins Oliver and his motley crew of familiars. Oliver names him Sid. Sid can use Evade to evade attacks and is also able to counterattack. This familiar can wield the Hoarfrost Harpoon that Oliver acquired earlier.

After the lesson, Oliver heads back to the main intersection to the west. At Level 3, Sid the Seed Sprite learns Water Bomb (time index 16:36).
