Nigeria and the United States of America have agreed to strengthen its bilateral ties on security, human development, technology, economic development among other critical areas.
The agreement was reached at the 6th session of the Nigeria-US Binational Commission at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Speaking at the end of the two day engagement, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador, Yusuf Tuggar said despite the complex issues discussed, the United States and Nigeria have a long history of cooperation, as such are committed to joining hands in addressing the challenges of the 21st century.
The United States Deputy Secretary of State, Kurt Campbell said they are ready to explore new areas of cooperation and partnership with Nigeria as the leader in Africa.
He said US is planning a major session in Washington DC in October where key technology players in Nigeria along with members of the technology community will be match with leading players in the United States.
The 7th session of the US-Nigeria Bi-National Commission will take place next year, 2025, in the United States of America.
