The PC Engine was graced with an amazing Ninja Spirit port, back in 1990. This one revamps the gameplay, and it's way more playable than the arcade. I used a couple of lives to beat the game, but overall no game over /continue screen popped up, so I felt I played the game the way it was intended to be. This game is a small fetish of mine. I love the moonjumping so much, and the weapons available are all satisfying, even if I end up using bombs a lot (which is not very ninja - like, but as long as it works...).
As usual, this one (as all my playthroughs) use NO savestates. In my opinion, playing this way yields a footage more attuned to game and level design than save-state powered runs. When i feel like editing videos, i'll do a review, not a playthrough.
Pc Engine SD Hu-Card recorded on japanese Core Graphix , with Retrotink2x and Avermedia Live Mini. Played on CRT with original NEC Pi-Pd6 controller.
