After several months beating the crap out of several evil overlord in Chochester (province of Badajoz), Ninjajar decided it was the right time for some hollidays, so he headed back to his village to tell his girl and spend with her a couple of days in the Beaches of Pepinoni. But… Damn! When he arrived to his village, her girl was nowhere to be found… She had been kidnapped by a monkey!
That was a real nuissance for Ninjajar, who after quite a long time in drydock was expecting some… uhm… action, you know. That drove Ninjajar really mad, so he decided to go anywhere to find his beloved.
GAMEPLAY (From mojontwins.com):
Help Ninjajar finding his girl in this video-adventure-arcade-platformer-whatever. You can jump, punch, jump and punch, break blocks, talk to people, talk to animals, buy things, get coins, solve puzzles, push levers… There’s lots to do if you want to see your girl again. Just write down the password the game shows before entering each level. If you die or you perform badly, you can try again using the latest password.
Some advice:
•Don’t rush. Try to break blocks and get coins, they will come handy later in the game!
•Explore everything. There’s secret rooms all around the world.
•Remember everything the characters say. It may sound like nonsense, but… who knows?
REVIEW:
So, you play as a ninja, and you have to find your girlfriend thay has been kidnapped by a dirty monkey! The first stage is a tutorial stage where Mack The Lumberjack tells you how to control Ninjajar and how to interact with the environments. A funny detail is that at the end of this stage you enter Mack's home, and on his stereo you can change the game music to Rick Astley, Never Gonna Give You Up.
This is a huuuge game and it is a mix between Sir Ababol II and Alex Kidd. In your quest you will come to a forest, a village, Sir Ababol II/Rainbow Islands stages where you have to climb eather up or down, Cave stages, Castle stages, the beach, water/swimming stages and much more.
A cool thing is that at the end of some levels there is a shop where you can buy extra lives for the coins you have found, and in these shops you will meet persons like Michael Knight from Knight Rider, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Bud Spencer, Alex Kidd and B. A. Baracus, and when you talk to these persons the music will change to something from a tv-series or a movie with them.
There is also a genie you will need to get some help from, but he do not want to just help anybody, so you will have to find some presents for him. A pair of knickers will do at one level, while a bra will do at another level. So there is quite a good sence of humor in this game.
The gameplay has great varity and so has the music. The controls are nice and tight, and the sprites is well animated and everything moves fast and smooth.
There are two endings depending on which way you choose on the second last level. This video shows the castle stage and the good ending at 01:27:12 and the beach stage and the bad ending at 01:43:14
There is a little color clash here and there, but you hardly notice that, and this is a great game that offers hours and hours of gameplay.
If I had to review this game for Your Sinclair I would give it 96%.
