Hit em very hard. Read description for more thoughts about various things I didn't mention in the video for sake of saving time. Wall of text incoming to reduce questions as much as possible.

How to get GEAR: Kaido-maru and Strategist of Legend are both dojo sets, where you have to unlock the dojo master for their gear or smithing text. Doing all of ng or ng+ Kyushu missions will unlock Nagayoshi for strategist set. I think region 2 cleared unlocks all wpn specific dojo's for Kaido set. Luckily doing the quest the 1st time awards their weapons, meaning you only need 2 armor pieces from each. Smithing text is not necessary since both have low reqs.
Regarding axe power comment: Axe is powerful in of itself, however, its skills seem to not have much multiplier to them. I could be wrong at this, but comparatively, I think the other wpn classes skills give a much bigger multiplier then say lumber chop or rumbling earth. I mean 40k, at 150+7, with carnage and kara jishi buff up, isn't what'd you expect from a fully charged boosted rumbling earth, in yokai realm with yokai realm mystic art from supposedly the strongest weapon class. Even a 20% boost from more offensive armor would bring it to 48ish k. Again though, I could be wrong but that's what it SEEMS like to me, which is why I made that statement. Better off spinning or spamming heaven and earth combo (square x2, then triangle, in high stance).
Which is why I ditched the whole "out of ki big bear heavy armor "tank" class" for the arguably more fun spin2win route that's better at guaranteed sustained damage rather than hypothetical big hits. I ran 3pc obsidian with strategist, trying for a middle ground of both big chunky high stance heaven and earth and mid-stance spin to win, but it failed (for my preferences). Also I found a lot of the times, since you ran out of ki so much so often, a single hit put you in danger, leading to encounters where facing multiple enemies was kind of dangerous. I did use kekkai talisman for super charged ki regen before you complain. I would use it in this current build but it counter-acts yokai realm damage boost mystic art, since it expels yokai realms immediately when in range. Tengen is a great substitute, but you gotta get rid of one of the talismans slots, and you gotta juggle stances for the buffs you want.
Also "Rage" does not stack with carnage/power pill. They overwrite each other, giving me more of a reason to ditch obsidian. Obsidian 7 pc set bonus (cta stam), gives bout 200 damage bonus. However, if you have 1800 attack, you can basically gain that amount by having another 3 pc set that gives 10-12% ccd. So imo, not that attractive for how heavy it is and the investment needed. And that's my explanation for why I went for the sets in the video, aside the limitations I mentioned I wanted to place for myself, that you don't need to adhere to :) Feel free to experiment.
