Trying something New (to you?) in November I'll be taking a look at a pair of Casio machines which both hit the market in 1983. Despite the similar names the systems don't share much in common aside from the main CPU in each being a Z80. The PV-1000 uses a NEC D65010G031 for sound and video, while the PV-2000 opts for a TMS9928A VDP as sound on MSX computers amongst others, that one utilizes a SN76489A for sound. Both systems were home to a number of ports of 8-bit arcade games with the PV-1000 being considered incredibly rare these days, and the PV-2000 heading the same way due to materials used to make the keyboard degrading at an alarming rate.
