NUNS 2 - Nov 11 11 A
Here is the last set of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 before Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is released. (Incidentally, the home console versions of Punch Time Explosion come out on the same day. Did Crave Entertainment not pay attention?) This is not the last of the videos for this game, however--I will simply be adding UMvC3 to the cycle while removing Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing until that blasted disconnection glitch stops.
Match #1
vs. PoPtart986
Karin, with Sasori and Tsunade
vs.
Minato, with Tobi and Naruto (Nine-Tailed Rasengan)
I remember I asked how to deal with Minato's Awakening-based teleport spamming, and I was told to simply jump. Thanks! It actually worked. One of Karin's greatest advantages over other characters is her comparatively fast grab. It's pretty short range, but chances are she'll be able to do it before the opponent can respond back. It doens't work when Minato's in Awakened status, of course, but hey, if they don't realize to stop teleporting all the time, their loss. (You can see my opponent tried everything to stop from my going into Awakening Mode too.)
Match #2
vs. XxANUBISxX00
Jugo, with Kakuzu and Sasori
vs.
Lars, with Itachi and Hidan
This is something especially rare: Someone who knows how to use Lars effectively. Lars doesn't have anything particularly long-range, which I believe is how Tekken works anyway. After the initial surprise grab, there wasn't much I could do. My opponent knew the speed and range of Lars's techniques and what to follow moves up with. This is also a rare case of his "10-hit Combo" Ultimate Jutsu connecting. I got creamed, but it was still an interesting creaming due to the unlikely choice of character. (Also, he's the only character in this game's roster with a cell phone.)
Match #3
vs. JaxMunga
Sasori, with Naruto (Nine-Tailed Rasengan) and Deidara
vs.
Might Guy, with Neji and Rock Lee
Sasori teaming up with Deidara? Blasphemy! But they'll have to unite together, along with their quarry Naruto, to take down this latest hammy threat. Actually, this is pretty much what happens when you're not ready to take on a puppetmaster character.
Match #4
vs. JaxMunga
Shino, with Naruto (Rasenshuriken) and Chiyo
vs.
Might Guy, with Neji and Rock Lee
Of course, JaxMunga didn't get the title of Hokage without being ready to take on some other types of characters. Shino is a long-range character, making him uncommon, but he's not really difficult to reach the way Sasori is. Shino's pretty slow as well. Nevertheless, whenever the randomizer gives me Shino, I like to lay down the Beetle Spheres to keep my opponent on their toes. Not allowing opponents to stop moving is crucial to Shino. Of course, Guy moves fast, so he can close the gap on Shino easily, where Shino is at his weakest.
Match #5
vs. PlayingFiber30
Hidan, with Sasuke (Chidori True Spear) and Ino
vs.
Naruto (Sage, Hokage Outfit) with Tobi and Deidara
Are those two really the sort Naruto would choose to hang out with when he finally becomes Hokage? Well, I suppose Deidara is now at peace. Hidan is somewhat difficulty to use as he has no medium-range or long-range options. Something that I noticed, though, is that Sage Naruto users like using the Rasenshuriken a lot, and when things get rough, they turn on Eight Tails Mode and do a lot of Chakra Gun Volleys. That move can damage a grounded opponent. What is that called in fighting terms, an OTG? Considering I'm getting Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, I've got to understand these terms. And yeah, I did use the grab move a lot--it's hard to approach Naruto otherwise with a slow and strictly melee fighter like Hidan. (Soul Hunt also leaves him valuable to assist attacks.)
