The official website for the television anime adaptation of Mari Okada and Nao Emoto's O Maidens in Your Savage Season (Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo) manga began streaming the show's second promotional video on Friday. The video previews CHICO with Honeyworks' opening theme song "Otome-domo yo."
The anime will air on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS' Animeism programming block, starting on July 5 late at night (effectively July 6) at 2:25 a.m. The show will also air on AT-X starting on July 8.
The show stars:
Tomoyo Kurosawa as Hitoha Hongō Chika Anzai as Niina Sugawara Shimba Tsuchiya as Izumi Norimoto Hiyori Kono as Kazusa Onodera Momo Asakura as Momoko Sudō Sumire Uesaka as Rika Sonezaki Jun Fukuyama as Tomoaki Yamagishi Yūya Hirose as Shun Amagiri Shunsuke Sakuya as Hisashi Saegusa Haruka Tomatsu as Sonoe Jūjō Natsuki Hanae as Satoshi Sugimoto
Masahiro Ando (Sword of the Stranger, Hanasaku Iroha - Blossoms for Tomorrow, Sirius the Jaeger, Snow White with the Red Hair) and Takurō Tsukada (Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart., Fate/Grand Order: Moonlight/Lostroom) are directing the anime at Lay-duce, and Okada herself is writing the scripts. Kaori Ishii (animation director for The Eden of Grisaia, Rewrite) is in charge of the character designs. Momo Asakura will perform the ending theme song.
Kodansha Comics released the manga's first volume in English on April 9, and it describes the story:
The girls in a high school literature club do a little icebreaker to get to know each other: answering the question, "What's one thing you want to do before you die?" One of the girls blurts out, "Sex." Little do they know, the whirlwind unleashed by that word pushes each of these girls, with different backgrounds and personalities, onto their own clumsy, funny, painful, and emotional paths toward adulthood.
Okada and Emoto launched O Maidens in Your Savage Season in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in December 2016, and the series is ongoing. The title is the manga series debut of screenwriter Okada.
