4,256Can I review the Oculus Quest 2 in 60 seconds or less? I can try! This is my Oculus Quest 2 shorts review, a quick summary of what I think is honestly the best VR headset for beginners & a damn good solution for PCVR as well (Quest 2 PCVR requires a link cable or you must set up a Quest 2 PC VR wireless solution).
The Quest 2 is my favourite piece of tech from 2020, a versatile, durable and high quality VR headset with a relatively low entry price point & a great catalogue of games and experiences spanning the Oculus Quest & Sidequest store fronts. With a few additional purchases the Quest 2 can be transformed into a great PC VR headset which does have some limitations when it comes to the link cable set up, which has a tendancy to compress image quality. The Quest 2 wireless PC VR setup is a much more appealing setup and works perfectly for PC VR if you have the network equipment to support this (a 5ghz router).
Overall the Quest 2 has reignited my love for VR and made it possible for countless newcomers to get involved with the medium for the very first time, pushing VR forward in the right way and attracting the attention of game developers the world over. Should you buy the Quest 2? Well if you're a beginner looking to try VR for the first time this is the best VR headset for your situation & if you're a veteran looking for an untethered VR experience that does not require a PC then the Oculus Quest 2 improves in almost every aspect over the Quest 1.
