Request Playthrough | Part 24: Prepare for the Journey North
We defeated Ninetails but it was a hollow victory since Queen Himiko is dead. Despite this, we have some work to do. A lot of work.
For starters we find a Treasure Box that helps Urashima return to normal. Weird I know. We also race against Hayate and Idea and get their rewards. We return to Shinshu Field and something seems very off. Fortunately for us, we use our newfound thunder power to open the way up north. This leads us to Kamui.
Right off the bat it's frigid as hell. We also face some new enemies such as Elite Red and Green Imps. But it's also here we're introduced to a new character: Oki. He is a warrior of the Oina Tribe who wields a sword. We have a boss fight against him and it's a challenging sort. After beating him, we learn that Ezofuji had been taken over by twin demons: Lechku and Nechku. They were once sealed only for them to be released and cause havoc all over Kamui. Not good.
Made worse is that much of Kamui is cursed so we got to work to purify it. Fortunately, Yoichi is nearby, and we help him add a little thunder to his arrow. That not only reveals the Guardian Sapling, but he seems freaked out. But at least he's got motivation now so that's good enough. We bloom the Guardian Sapling and with it Kamui is restored. With Kamui restored, we get to work.
We also meet Onigiri Sensei, and we get to work learning a lot of new moves. They are going to be helpful a lot.
Exploring Kamui will be our next stop in Part 25.
