It began on a night of sweeping rain and shattering thunder, thirty years ago. That night, death was coming for old Thaddeus Darrow, and that eccentric gentleman sat waiting for it by candlelight. His hands clutched a heavy, black thorned cane, and at his feet lay the only creature he had ever trusted. Rufus. A savage and massive elkhound. Darrow gave instructions for the mansion to be boarded up after his death, where Rufus continues to defend the mansion of his dead master, and the money hidden somewhere inside the house...
