Wow. I can't believe I didn't know about this game until randomly checking the new VR releases. I'm damn glad I did too.
This game is a hell of a lot of fun once you figure it out. There's a bit of a learning curve as you have to manipulate your weapons as if you actually had them in your hands, IE pressing the mag release and pulling the mag out, grabing a mag off your vest and inserting into the rifle. Pulling the pin on a grenade before you throw it or pressing the plunger on the syringe.
It IS an Early Access title but it's core gameplay is what VR was built for. Reaching up to your shoulder to activate your radio to communicate with your team. Local voice coms at a believable distance start to fade so you have to use the radio.
The creator of this one is a genius. It needs work, but that's what EA is for. You'll see a bug at the end of the video where I die but become a ghost instead of return to the lobby.
Pros
Amazingly immersive
Incredible sense of presence
Realistic weapons
Built for VR actions
Takes real skill and cooperation to succeed
Candidate for VR Esports if I've ever seen one
Cons
EA title (they have a bad rep for a reason)
Some don't like the UI, I didn't mind it too much. Does need more polish though
The main con is that games can drag on if opponents can't find each other. Needs a tighter time limit or something to combat lobby boredom while spectating nothing happening.
The video doesn't do the game justice. It's a game you have to try and experience to understand it. This is well worth the $25. I probably would have paid double after playing it. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/mastrshadow
