Jest to już drugie wydanie poprawkowe i w tej edycji twórcy postanowili oddać trybut legendarnej Mandrake / Mandrivie.

Domyślnie w OpenMandriva 2014 nie znajdziemy nowoczesnych aplikacji, ale za to znajdziemy wysoką stabilność. Dystrybucja została wyposażona domyślnie w środowisko KDE 4.14.3, Linux Kernel 3.18.16 NRJQL, Xorg 1.15.2 oraz Mesa 10.4.7.

W pozostałych pakietach znajdziemy m.in. Firefox 38, LibreOffice 4.4.3, Java 7 and 8, tools for printing and many other software. Pamiętajcie jednak, że są to aplikacje, które pojawiły się domyślnie w tym wydaniu, po pobraniu aktualizacji systemowych, otrzymamy ich aktualizacje do nowych wersji.
