OpenRails - Sulzers On The Midland Railway Centre Butterley (MSTS) *RARE ADDON*
10Here we have a very special Open Rails video!!. A huge thanks to one of the former developers of the Midland Railway Centre Butterley route addon for Microsoft Train Simulator for getting in contact regarding this DLC package that we have wanted to get hold of for quite some time. This video recreates a sort of action packed Sulzer gala utilising some of the Sulzer Engined Diesel Locomotives that come with the addon. This video covers the route and locomotives 33201, 47401, D182, 45133 and D7671.

Overall the Midland Railway Centre addon is very good and can certainly be seen as one of the better addon packs for Microsoft Train Simulator with a huge range of locomotives and rolling stock to choose from and a route with exceptional detail topped off with detailed audio from both the locomotives and rolling stock. The downfall to this addon being ported into Open Rails is that the braking physics for a majority of the locomotives are a little broken and not the best, various activities do not work properly and locomotives such as the class 20s have audio issues, Not to mention the constant brake hiss of the vacuum braked locos which unfortunately is a known bug with Open Rails across the board.
Apart from these Open Rails issues this addon was really good for its time and i am sure worked perfectly in the original MSTS game.
With MSTS no longer being playable on windows, anyone wanting to play this old retro simulator shall have to download OpenRails which is basically a remastered/revisited version of this classic game making it compatible to run on modern day computers. It can be downloaded from the link below, it is recommended to have a copy of Microsoft Train Simulator installed to your computer for this game.
