Orcs Must Die! Unchained (PS4) - War Mage Midnight Market Guide (5 Star with Blackpaw)
(Patch 2.6) This was done at Account Level 12 with all tier 1 traps. I am using Barricade, Tar, Brimstone, Floor Spikes, Arrow Wall, and Swinging Mace.
You start out with lower coin than usual, but you'll want to try to save up so you can Barricade the Rift off. You can do this by blocking either the west or east side of the Rift; I like to do the west because I can use the Guardian on the east for the first few waves.
I trapped the east hallway, but there are different things you can do. You can put a couple of wall traps at the east gate first (Grinders if you have them) and place Tar down so you're slowing everything right out of the gate. Blackpaw does better here, as he can keep them grouped up easier at the gate entrance.
As a ranged character, you will have to be more careful, as some of the minions will not go directly south to the Rift - some will go west, so try to make sure none get by.
Once the second gate is about to open, the east gate will close, but it becomes very important to block the Rift off at that point. You'll see me sell some traps to ensure I have the money for Barricades (which I didn't need to do), then continue to trap the east hallway. You'll get Earth Elementals out of that north gate, so be ready for them.
Once the Rift is blocked off though, it's not too bad. I really wish I had saved my Unchained for the last wave, as I nearly died and the boss minion almost got to the Rift. I suppose that's what I get for doing it at such a low level.
