Original Zelda - Co Op Challenge! | Ep 1: "The Blind Leading The Blind" | Let's Play - Gameplay
Welcome to The Basement - let's play the Legend of Zelda 2 player co-op challenge!
It's the original Zelda! No denying this is a classic. This time on Let's Play Legend of Zelda, we try playing blindfolded. It's truly a frightening co-op experience.
------------------------
Everyone loves Zelda. Everyone has done a Let's Play of Zelda. Ted and Peter decided to mix it up and give the game a new experience. Co-op mode! Ok, so it's not a true co-op mode, but a little homemade ingenuity and creativity has taken this Let's Play of The Legend of Zelda to... legendary proportions. Slap challenges, trivia, split screen, controller-sharing, even funny accents. You name it, Peter and Ted have tried it to give the game an interesting twist.
We found during this series, that this is a great way to enjoy a classic game with a friend, and the great thing is - it's free! Try the blindfold challenge and see how you match up against us. Try blocking off half the screen so you need to rely on communication to survive and conquer. It's a blast and a half!
If you have never played this game before, give it a shot the old-fashioned way (and try not to use a walkthrough!) it's a classic, so experience it like your dad did. No guides, no cheating, and no wikipedia.
But... if you are too afraid of the danger to go it alone... take this:

Seriously, this site is awesome. It's a great place for everything Zelda - and the walkthroughs are ridiculously well designed.

A long, long time ago the World was in an age of Chaos. In the middle of this chaos, in a little kingdom in the land of Hyrule, a legend was being banded down from generation to generation, the legend of the "Triforce"; golden triangles possessing mystical powers. One day, an evil army attacked this peaceful little kingdom and stole the Triceforce of Power. This army was led by Gannon, the powerful Prince of Darkness who sought to plunge the World into fear and darkness under his rule. Fearing his wicked rule, Zelda, the princess of this kingdom, split up the Triforce of Wisdom into eight fragments and hid them throughout the realm to save the last remaining Triforce from the clutches of the evil Gannon. At the same time, she commanded her most trustworthy nursemaid, Impa, to secretly escape into the land and go find a man with enough courage to destroy the evil Gannon. Upon hearing this, Gannon grew angry, imprisoned the princess, and sent out a party in search of Impa. Braving forests and mountains,
Impa fled for her life from her pursuers. As she reached the very limit of her energy she found herself surrounded by Gannon's evil henchmen. Cornered! What could she do? ... But wait! All was not lost. A young lad appeared. He skillfully drove off Gannon's henchmen, and saved Impa from a fate worse than death. His name was Link. During his travels he had come across Impa and Gannon's henchmen. Impa told Link the whole story of the princess Zelda and the evil Gannon. Burning with a sense of justice, Link resolved to save Zelda, but Gannon was a powerful opponent. He held the Triforce of Power. And so, in order to fight off Gannon, Link had to bring the scattered eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom together to rebuild the mystical Triangle. If he couldn't do this, there would be no chance Link could fight his way into Death Mountain where Gannon lived. Can Link really destroy Gannon and save the Princess Zelda? Only your skill can answer that question. Good luck. Use the Triforce wisely.
We will do our best to explain the benefits of the red potion and the blue potion, how they can be combined, and why to never pass up a heart container for one. We will explain the benefit of the magical book (it enhances the magical rod) and demonstrate the usefulness of the step ladder and raft. We'll be obtaining the power bracelet, the blue ring, the red ring, and magical shield along the way. We're Zelda experts, folks, and you won't miss out on much of the game if you watch this particularly challenging playthrough.
