Out of Control Sensitivity in Gaming - Are Players Tyrants
10,604Game development is already tricky, but if you factor in the treatment of characters as "human beings" and assign the label of "tyrant" to your own player base the likelihood of making a socially acceptable video game becomes all but impossible.
Oversensitivity often results in a desire for an overarching regulatory body to dictate and control the social space... which is a one-way progression towards loss of individual autonomy and a restriction on basic freedoms.
The vocal minority pushing for the total elimination of anything they subjectively dislike is small, but their deviously crafted position makes it harder for what little pushback there is to find footing without opening themselves up to the criticism of prejudice, or lack of empathy and conscience.
