Outside of the Shell: Cybersecurity Careers and Paths for the Non-Technical People
When the choice is made to transition to a cybersecurity career, often the roles we see or hear about are very technical in nature. From penetration tester to Security engineer, these types of roles is what seems to fill up the job boards and what we hear from others in the industry when looking to transition into the cybersecurity space. What is often overlooked and not highly recognized are the successful roles and careers that doesn't require the individual to know how to exit vi or vim. This talk will highlight a number of non-technical roles within the cybersecurity industry, how to find these non-technical roles when transitioning into the cybersecurity industry, what skills are needed to fill these non-technical roles, and why these are just as important as the technical roles that we see blasted on job boards.
