There are a few things you can do to level fast and earn experience quickly in overwatch. You'll simply be playing the game, but there are a few mechanics to be aware of to maximize your experience gain and level as quickly as possible.

First of all - The amount of experience you need to level goes up as you increase your level.

Levels 1 - 5 goes up by 1500
Levels 6 - 16 go up by 1000
and 17-23 go up by 5000
All leves past level 23 are 22000 to level

Now, let's learn about how your XP gain is influenced each match.

First of all, you earn 4 XP per second of the match duration for simply completing the match.

Also, based on the medals you earn - you'll earn a bonus for the highest medal. That's 50 for bronze, 100 for silver and 150 for gold. If you get 4 golds you don't get 4 x 150, you simply get one bonus of the highest medal you receive.

You receive an additional bonus of 250 XP for completing the match. If you win the game, you receive 500 xp.

Something many people don't know is that you also earn 20% increased XP for playing with friends in a party.

A less known trick is that you gain a bonus of experience for playing consecutive matches. So once you're in a game, do your best to just stick with the auto queue and keep that consecutive match bonus going!
