Paranoia | World War 3: Mission 3 | No Failure Run
7Considering this part of WW3 being the longest one of all, I had to be really careful on placing certain entities. I would've liked for you to be assisted by the Alpha soldiers that accompanied you in the main Paranoia campaign, but I found out if they're killed, your game is over just like that. It's not a map trigger thing, the failure state is literally set up in the code, aggravatingly enough.
It's fine in the main mod since you tend to overwhelm the enemy when you're with Alphas, but in this mod it's usually the other way around, with some enemies capable of throwing grenades. As a result, pretty much all the barneys you would've encountered in this mod are all just regular ol' army guys. Well, okay, I did add a couple of Alphas in the chopper and in the very last map, but even then I gave the guy something like 9999HP.
While the first missions are simple affair, I do like how Mission 3 varies things up. You even get to do a paratroop drop in this one, very neat. I did also eventually found a place to set the mutanty fellas in, you'll see 'em when you see 'em. Ah, right, since a couple of the barneys had a scripted_sequence thing going, had to fill them in with Paranoia's sequences. Not exactly the same, but I think they fit alright enough.
