Star Wars Testmod | U-Life | No Failure Run
7An unfinished mod for an unfinished mapset. Depressing, but still made for a fun combo while it lasts. The mapset doesn't even have a proper end, it just stops after the 10th map, with the player having to close the game themselves. Still though, Unreal-themed maps are a rare occasion to see in HL1, so mixing it and Star Wars seemed like an amusing choice. With that said, we do fight more than just SW enemies here.
Since SWTestmod contains pretty much all the old HL1 entities, it's very possible for me to leave Xenians as a faction you can fight in this mod. Just another set of aliens in a galaxy far, far away, hmm? Fortunately, they do keep old allegiances in mind, you won't see them being buddy - buddies with the Imperial type.
Not entirely sure about the HECU. Not exactly big on testing them since you'd end up with a 9mmAR or the shotgun, weapons that'd probably mop the slower projectile shooting stormtroopers. I suppose "slugthrowers" are a thing in Star Wars, so if I'm feeling experimental, we could have a lovely test to see whether an AT-ST can win against an Apache attack helicopter.
Oh, yeah. The Conc Rifle shows up in this run. It's a weird weapon compared to its original incarnation, straight up blinding you for a prolonged amount of time, making it a very situational weapon to use. I guess it's one way to make the Rail Det more appealing as the offensive area of effect weapon but still have ol' MacConky for defensive ones.
