Kara cancelling a focus attack into Gen's stance change gives you 1 frame of armor. This looks and acts like a parry. Here are a few techniques for pulling it off using both the arcade and default console button layouts.
Without ppp/kkk shortcuts the easiest way of doing it (for me) is to hit 3 buttons together and then plink the 4th. So this is either
LP+MP+MK-plink HP
or
LK+MP+MK-plink HK
Playing on console with ppp/kkk shortcuts you can just plink those shortcuts after hitting MK+MP. So that's
MP+MK-plink ppp
or
MP+MK-plink kkk
If you want to practice it, just record any fireball character throwing jab fireballs in training mode. Then stand at the other side of the screen and try to 'parry' them. You'll know you've done it right if Gen absorbs the hit and then casually changes stance like a boss. If you get hit, you're doing it too early. If you perform a full focus then you're not plinking the other buttons quickly enough.
