The most important question a person can face is "What do you want?". It gets to the heart of what is most important about us, which is "what kind of person am i becoming?". Invariably, whatever it is that we want most, is that which will be the most important factor in shaping the person we're becoming - which is to say, our character. Through the parables in Matthew 13, Jesus is leading us to confront that very question in order to remind us that when the Kingdom IS what we want to "seek first" above all things, the pervasive joy that it provides will be worth any cost. The question is, then, is that really what you want?
