★ Path of Exile Tutorial - The Ledge - The Best Farming Spot in Act 1 (Gear, XP and Currency)
29In this path of exile tutorial, kestalkayden goes over the best farming spot in act 1, regardless whether or not its normal, cruel, or merciless.
A few of my followers have asked me where the best place is to farm both equipment and experience in Act 1. So I figured I'd go through a farming tutorial series for Path of Exile, starting with the Ledge on Act 1.
Regardless of what difficulty you are in, whether normal, cruel, or merciless. The ledge is the best farming spot in Act 1 for various reasons. Players in races or in hardcore often go to this spot to overlevel so that they can be prepared and power through the rest of act 1.
The reasons why players like it? First, its very linear. You wont stray off the path and there is only one direction to go. What this will allow you to do (especially in groups) is to go from one exit to another, then quickly start another instance and power through.
Another reason why the ledge is convenient is that the difficulty of the monsters is not too high and they often group up which makes Area of Effect builds quite efficient running the ledge.
One of my other favourite parts of the ledge is the fact that the waypoint is pretty much in the middle so you can go either way and you'll still reach the exit at around the same time so you can exit and go back in by creating another new instance.
There is a mini-boss at the ledge named Kududo, the false god. He is a giant totem which relentlessly uses a spark attack, so if you are low on lightning resistance you can just avoid the boss all together, or switch up with some lightning resist gear for the duration of the map.
To enter a new instance of this map, you either ctrl+click the waypoint in the map screen or when you are just outside the area, to ctrl+click the exit portal leading back into the ledge.
This area is great for leveling and people usually overlevel here to make the rest of the act much easier for them; the ledge is also a great place to find rares and to accumulate your currency.
