★ Minecraft 1.6.1 Mod Tutorial - Installing Forge and Mods (New Method)
83In this Minecraft 1.6 mod tutorial, I'll show you how to install forge which is causing people a lot of problems and issues. Minecraft 1.6.1 introduced a new way for things to interact, but completely removes the bin folder, amongst other things.

In this video, I'll be outlining the steps in order to successfully install forge. You'll need a few things, but the most important part will probably be the .json file.
FORGE-1.6.1.JSON FILE:

---- NOTE: Alternatively, you can just drag that file into the folder where you are editing the current json folder.
If you haven't done so already, I'd also download Notepad++ which is free. This will be a major help, even outside of minecraft.
Steps for the Readers:
1) Open [minecraft]/versions.
2) Duplicate 1.6.1
3) Rename to Forge-1.6.1
4) Open Forge-1.6.1
5) Rename 1.6.1.jar to Forge-1.6.1.jar
6) Rename 1.6.1.json to Forge-1.6.1.json
7) Delete Forge-1.6.1.json and download this file: http://cl.ly/Q0YR. You will need to open the zip, then put it in [minecraft]/versions/Forge-1.6.1/
8) Open [minecraft]/libraries
9) Make a folder called cpw and open it
10) Make a folder called mods and open it
11) Make a folder called fml and open it
12) Make a folder called 5.2.29 and open it
13) Download the latest 1.6.1 Forge and rename it to fml-5.2.29.jar
14) Put it in [minecraft]/libraries/cpw/mods/fml/5.2.29
15) Open the Minecraft launcher
16) Make a new profile, set it to release Forge-1.6.1 as the version.
17) Play.
