In this video you can see a demonstration of what will happen if developers do not add pre-compilation of shaders to a game on Unreal Engine 4. The first launch - numerous stutters. In subsequent launches, the number of stutters decreases because the number of actions performed for the first time decreases. The developers plan to transfer the game to Unreal Engine 5 after release and this, in theory, could help get rid of this problem. Nevertheless, I hope there will be a patch that will add pre-compilation of shaders.
Payday 3 launches in DX11 by default. But there is also DX12. In order to enable it, you need to add -dx12 in the command line parameters (works in steam and egs versions). In my opinion, DX12 works better but still suffers from the lack of shader precompilation.
