Pegasus and the Phantom riders patched for the Color Computer 3
5Pegasus and the Phantom Riders is a great clone of Joust for the Tandy Color Computer, it did some very unique things with this game genre, first, it replaced birds with flying horses, the eggs dropped by the bird riders are replaced with tombstones, and the playing field, is not just a changing variation of the scame screen, but rather screens that change over time, and reveal a large island base where the enemies come from.
It use a great deal of pseudo colors on the screen, taking advantage of not only the standard 4 color artifact mode that introduced red and blue to an otherwise black and white world, but it also took those colors and mixed them in a variety of ways to create the illusion of even more.
This version, ported to the Color Comptuer 3 for RGB monitors does a great job of reproducing the artifact colors and other dithered pseudo colors as well, great job!
