Programming in BASIC on the Color Computer chapter 20 "The Big Brush Off"
8Chapter 20 in Getting Started with Extended Color BASIC is called "The Big Brush Off" and it's all about the PAINT command.
With the PAINT command, you can fill an area of the screen in with the color of your choice.
The Syntax for PAINT is PAINT (X,Y),PC,PS
X is the horizontal axis from 0-255
Y is the vertical axis from 0-191
PC is the paint color 0-8 (depending on the graphics mode)
PS is the "stop" color you want the paint to stop at, any color that isn't the "Stop" color will get painted over.
Paint is a quick and easy way to fill in areas of your screen with a certain color, and the chapter has us demonstrate this by painting in areas of a circle, and later challenges us to a DIY of updating our "house" program to paint in the house with colors, and even asks us to add a garage and open and close the garage door by re painting it.
