Persona 3 - Low Level Part 10: Chariot & Justice (8/6 Full Moon Event)
Fourth Full Moon Event, which we have the pleasure to do with Aigis (whose level advantage over the party is still quite vivid) in the party. This actually makes a world of difference in terms of damage done.
Chariot and Justice start the battle as one, Chariot doing the attacking. He has some attack skills and some negative status, so having all kinds of mirrors on isn't a bad idea. Magic Mirrors might be a bit redundant at the start though, before Justice appears with his Hama spells (though we have a little stack of Homunculus already, certainly enough even for the worst scenario in this battle), but Attack Mirrors are almost a must, especially with Revolution upping the boss's critical rate as well. Reflected Swift Strike bounces back at the boss for some very nice damage, as does most of his arsenal. Ideally, Attack Mirrors should be on all four characters at all times, to prevent boss's Once Mores, but not using one after just a single character was hurt is permissible I suppose, for economy's sake.
At a certain time (determined by the boss's current HP when his turn comes) the boss will separate into it, and their HP appears to be a half of their HP together before they divided. Therefore, it is actually advisable to dish out the most damage to the boss just before he's about to split - making the ending absurdly short and painless.
This is why, when the boss is about to split, I have Aigis enter Orgia Mode (if she enters it immediately, she will overheat before the battle is over and some serious sandbagging will be taking place) and this leads to Chariot and Justice having laughable amounts of HP so that I can finish them off next turn.
There's one main problem in this battle - when one part dies, the other will cast Samarecarm to restore it to full health, which basically makes the battle last at least twice as long all over again. This is why you shouldn't kill one part before the other or, if you do it, make sure you're able to finish the second one off before its turn comes (the turn order is pretty straightforward if nobody is dead - turns come in the sequence you chose for the characters in the party formation).
This is actually not that easy, because Orgia Mode Aigis, going just before the bosses, may go for a single-target attack and screw everything up (unless she scores a crit and can re-act; I forget if the bosses can be knocked down when split but I believe they can), but we have 3 more characters that are controllable and can adequately plan out our actions and risks.
The amount of damage Aigis dealt to the boss before he divided was so huge that the ending was really short here - I must say it wasn't without luck.
Still, I was on the edge of my seat because instead of using an attack gem to guarantee Justice's kill, I decided to cast Bufula normally and... it missed of course! I panicked when it was Aigis's turn considering her gun accuracy is really low but she didn't whiff - thank God. Orgia Mode just might have some effect on hit rates too, I wouldn't be surprised.
After doing this battle, I actually decided I absolutely need Yukari to gain the exp here because of Mitsuru, because I was under the impression Yukari learns Mediarama earlier than Ken Amada, but this is not the case in the P3P version (Amada learns the spell the next level after he joins here). I would've recorded the new version with Yukari (obviously a little slower and more item magic-heavy) and I tried to - but recording boss battles almost makes my PSP semi-brick (you can probably tell by the lag and the sound disappearing sometimes).
