The Truman Show is an older, but brilliant, film starring Jim Carrey. Probably one of his best, and one of my favourites. Not just of Jim Carrey's library, but one of my favourite films in general. It's a comedy/drama centred around the idea of someone who has grown up on television. His life televised 24 hours a day, and meticulously planned by a corporate TV station and series director.

Not only is a great comedy/drama though, it is filled with brilliant philosophical themes. From identity, to social constructionism, to determinism, to scepticism and epistemology. Some of these themes are more obvious than others, but there is plenty for sceptics to find and learn from in the film. In this stream I joined Joe of Answers in Reason on Answers in Reason, along with Philip Muller, to discuss the various themes and ideas in The Truman Show.
