FPS Creator went through a renaissance in the early to mid 2010s with the rise in popularity of minimalist indie horror games. Perhaps the most well-known example is Phobia 1.5: The Fear of the Darkness, a chilling horror puzzle game set in a dilapidated mansion, made by Finnish developer Jonez Games.
Driven to seek shelter after your car breaks down in the snowstorm, you take refuse in an abandoned and isolated mansion...only to slowly realise you are not alone. Whilst searching for a way home, you gradually uncover the house's mysteries and tragic past.
