Phoenix Point: Year One Edition | Intel Kaby Lake (HD 620) | HD 720p
Phoenix Point is usually described as a game created by X-COM creator and is compare to classic UFO's titles. But besides many similarities it is new game that easy settle old and new players.
Released in 2020.
Unity engine was used to power Phoenix Point graphics. Game require strong GPU but it is rather light for CPU. That makes problem for any computers with integrated graphics where this resources are very limited.
My laptop could handle it in 720p resolution but not be able to generate 24+fps nowhere near.
Luckily this is turn based strategy so high frame rate is not necessary to gameplay.
On average 16fps was enough to play comfortably in tactical missions. There was no problem at all with geoscape gameplay. My 15W dual-core CPU handled it very well.
Game require min 8 GB of RAM. My laptop has 8 GB and that was not enough to even start the game. Adding 4 GB virtual memory was needed to play this game.
That shouldn't be a problem for PC players as modern machines are mostly equipped with 8 - 16 GB and if not then memory modules are accessible and easily replaceable. For laptop players that can be a problem, most laptops has 4 - 8 GB and memory is hard or even not expendable. Keep that in mind before play.
Last to mention is game require quite a lot of space on hard drive (over 36+ GB).
Graphics, besides it was on very low settings, was good. Audio was clear and sharp.
Video shows little geoscape and one full tactical mission.
