Pillars of eternity 2: Deadfire Review. Beast of Winter is the best and worst this CRPG has to offer
Since Obsidian published Pillars of Eternity in the year 2015, it has always been on and off the lists of "spiritual successors" to Bioware's Baldur's Gate 2, along with names like Pathfinder Kingmaker, Divinity Original Sin II and to a lesser extent, Black Geyser and Solasta Crown of the Magister.
The Beast of Winter DLC the adds further content to Pillars of Eternity 2:Deadfire. And just like the core game drew heavy inspiration from Bioware's most iconic D&D series, this expansion pack treads upon territory that will be familiar to fans of Black Isle's Icewind Dale series.
This review focuses heavily on Rymrgand: the god of entropy and decay in the Pillars universe, Waidwen and the character Vatnir.
Keep in mind that I do not claim to be an expert in Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, nor any other rule set. This video only seeks to present my experience with the game and my personal takeaways.
